Amsterdam

Amsterdam
Is not a fairy tale
But a place on the map
Imagine that
Tulips
Canals
Bicycles and trams
Van Gogh’s gallery
Features himself
Listen to his story
Get inside his skin
What a battle he’s been in
Rijksmuseum
History of Amsterdam in art
Images of Napoleon’s downfall
Vermeer’s The Milkmaid
Rembrandt’s Night Watch
Nearby
His studio and etchings
Ann Frank’s moving museum
The diary tells the tale
Of a 12 year old girl
Inspiration to all
Ecstatic Jazz
Fills the night
Invitations to sing
Fills my heart with delight
Talking of dreams
Till the morning light
Contemporary gallery
Colin McMahon’s work
Inspired by his open talk
Lost in Vondel’s park
Named after a poet
Wonder if he lived to know it
